The art of transforming concrete expectations into reality... despite below average off form concrete quality

RENUGLASS was appointed to supply & apply our ImperGuard Color Silicate Stain on the precast walls of the internal lift lobby at a new commercial building in Singapore. 

The precast panels had to be partially hacked and repaired with plaster during construction. It was clear that, given the panels condition, applying a concrete stain with the specified dilution of 1:3 would not give a satisfactory result. The result below was understandingly rejected by client as the plaster repair still stand out due to the low opacity:

RENUGLASS proposed an alternative solution that would hide the panels imperfections and repairs while retaining the concrete look design intent. 

How we did it: 

• Sand down the panels to remove extra plaster and achieve a flat surface

• Apply 3 coats of ImperGuard Color Silicate Stain light grey at maximum opacity (1:1) to achieve homogeneity across the panels

• Lightly sand the panels to maximise adhesion

• Apply 1 coat of ImperGuard Color Silicate Stain dark grey using sponging method to create an earthy concrete look
